yarn knitted up beautifully. I have called it 'other' because I have
heard it described as a "heavy" worsted, whatever that may be.
The yarn has the occasional bit of chaff, but nothing major. At the above
mentioned tension, for a heavy sock, it forms a dense cushiony fabric that
washes and dries very well. It comes in a great range of colours and
works well with Tuffy (an 80% wool and 20% nylon blend also by B&L)
for the heels and toes of socks. Even the straight wool wears well.
I don't know if this is of interest but Briggs & Little will mail a
shade card to anyone who is interested and does a roaring mail-order
business with basically return mail service. No, I do not work for
them...I am too busy knitting with their wool. I hope this is not a
problem; I would like to submit another review of this same yarn. It
also works up very well in a whole other tension...for socks naturally!
