Saartje's Toe Closure

I was taught to finish my sock in this way: When
you come to the last 12 stitches (6 on the top of
the foot, 6 on the bottom), you knit 1 st from the top together with one from
the bottom, do the same with the next 2 st, then pass the first st you knit (on
the right needle) over the second. Knit the next 2 st together and pass
the st on the right needle over it (just like binding off). This leaves you with
a little seam on your toe, but that doesn't bother me at all when wearing the
socks, and I've never heard complaints from other people either. Wow, this was
hard to explain, but it would be even more difficult to explain it in Dutch,
because almost all the knitting patterns I use are in English.
