Joan's Advice on Sticky Stitches
When I started one particular pair of socks (2 circs) I was dismayed that what had been, up til then, a smooth sliding needle was now irritating to work with. I needed to wrestle the stitches towards the tip when starting to work.
But then I noticed: I had just been lucky before. One of the joins (cable
to tip) was very smooth, the other was not. The cure: knit onto the tip with
the non-smooth join. Sliding stitches from tip to cable is not a problem. Then
sliding the stitches from cable to tip is done on the smoother join and it,
too, is much pleasanter.
