I learned to knit socks at 18 (I am now 67) and an argyle was the first one I sneaked a try at... it was a success my little sample and made more socks for hubby in the years after until he say "enough"...I an now planning socks for myself...
but this message is to say THANK YOU to Edie Eckman for the lesson in Duplicate Stitch.
My Duplicate stitches have never satisfied me. They looked odd, etc. so I stopped doing them and went onto something else.....I now see where I was going wrong and am anxious to try this stitch again....I put my needle in the hole between stitches not behind the centre of the stitch.....what a difference.
