My swatch worked to the right gauge. I had to use 4ply Baby Wool - I didn't think the 3ply Baby Wool would wear too well and I had no other choice. I'm using 2.5mm needles. I am producing a lovely big bright Christmas stocking!! Questions - Will the sock 'pull in' at the top as I continue down the leg? Will 2.25mm or even 2mm i.e. sizes 13 and 14 AUS (or sizes 1 and 0 US) needles really make enough difference in the width to make the socks wearable? (4ply Baby wool knits to a slightly finer gauge than Patonyle 4py fingering sock yarn.)
