I didn't do any slipping on the first row as I didn't know what was coming on the next row. On subsequent I've slipped the first stitch of every K or P row. It's just easier for me to pick up stitches and (IMHO) it looks better.
Will I run into any trouble along the way with this habit?
Re the YOs, I find the way I wind the yarn makes the difference from bleed to no bleed.. don't know why (don't care at this point) but I'm avoiding the bleeding. My colors are red, yellow and a wild variegated red/orange/yellow/fuscia mix, so a bleed really stands out.
