I undid all of the first attempt at my EL socks. I didn't really want a big Christmas stocking! Now I've almost finished the entrelac using size 14 (2mm) needles and it looks good. I'm really glad that I began again, because on the second try I learnt to knit backwards to speed up the process; I can do it on the knit side easily, but can't do it on the purl side yet. My query is about the Yarn Over stitch at the end of the row. Is it really necessary? I'm finding the entrelac very easy and great fun, but the YO stitch slows me down when I have to Pass it and the Slip Stitch over the last K1. I tried some rows leaving it out and it didn't seem to make much difference except that the edge of the colour change is more definite with the YO added, or did I just imagine it looked better? I pulled them undone and redid them properly with the YO. I'm finding knitting with the fine needles very easy, except for that YO stitch which seems to get caught each time and needs extra effort to 'catch' it and get it over the K1. Do you think that I might be doing something wrong or tackling it the wrong way?
