Continental knitting question

Judy (or anyone else who knits continental) -

This is my first attempt at two-handed knitting, and generally it's going very well. I may frog my first sock leg due to slightly too-tight stranding, but the second one is going well. I'm happy to have the class -- I found the idea of this fairly scary to try on my own, for some reason.

A question, though. When I wrap the yarn around with my left hand, it doesn't wrap "around" as much as my right-hand yarn would, so that when I start to carry it through the loop with my right needle, I have to hold onto the yarn with my right finger to keep it from popping off the needle. (Does that make sense?) This doesn't seem right, somehow, so I'm wondering what I need to do differently.

Any suggestions?

Thanks again for the great class!
